Extension of the term of the Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms (SCRM)

- The Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms (SCRM) was established in the year 2015 for a period of two (02) years, for the effective implementation of the decisions, programmes and processes related to the reconciliation in Sri Lanka. The Secretariat continues to discharge its functions by coordinating the relevant Ministries and the stakeholders such as other Government Institutions, International Organizations and the Civil Society and facilitating the reconciliation process.

As such, considering the need for implementing a planned programme to create awareness among the general public of the country for building up reconciliation, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister, to extend the tenure of the said office up to 2019‑03‑31, was approved by the Cabinet.
