Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Co-operation in the fields of Diplomatic Training and Research between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar

- The diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the State of Qatar were established in the year 1976 and subsequently, those relations have been strengthened in various fields. It has been proposed to enter into a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries, in order to jointly conduct diplomatic training, research and academic programmes. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Thilak Marapana, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to sign the aforesaid MoU on co-operation in the fields of diplomatic training and research between the two countries during the official visit to the State of Qatar to be made by H.E. the President in the near future, was approved by the Cabinet.
