Development of the Garbage Dumping Land in Peliyagoda

- A proposal has been made to utilize the extent exceeding 07 Acres of land with a high market value belonging to the Urban Development Authority used at present as a dumping ground for solid waste, for development purposes. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to develop the plot of land by a systematic filling of the land and designing a Storm Water Drainage System in the adjoining area, with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation (SLLR&DC), was approved by the Cabinet.
