Development of the Medical Ward Complex in the General Hospital, Kalutara

- The General Hospital, Kalutara, which is the major hospital in the Kalutara District provides a great service in providing health care services for the people living in Agalawatta, Bulathsinghala, Horana, Bandaragama, Kalutara, Mathugama, Panadura and Beruwala. It has been proposed to construct a new 07 storey building for the medical ward complex with the objective of providing with more accommodation facilities for in-door patients.

As such, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the contract for the construction of this complex to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau and the Engineering Services (Pvt.) Company for a sum of Rs.2,817 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
