Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Migrant Labour Cooperation to be signed between Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates

- New laws have been formulated by the United Arab Emirates pertaining to the exchange of information on the domestic migrant workers using modern technology when recruiting such workers for employment and the conduct of recruitments in a clear and transparent manner. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Thalatha Atukorala, the Minister of Justice, to enter into a new Memorandum of Understanding on Migrant Labour Cooperation between Sri lanka and the United Arab Emirates, to deploy Sri Lankan Migrant workers in compliance with the said law and to provide protection to the Sri Lankan Migrant workers from human trafficking and human smuggling, was approved by the cabinet.
