Construction of New Court Buildings

- The necessary measures are being taken by the Government to make the administration of Justice expeditious and efficient. With a view to providing a better service to the general public, it has been planned to improve the infrastructure facilities in the court houses which are presently maintained in old buildings with inadequate facilities.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Thalatha Atukorala, the Minister of Justice, to implement a project for providing new building facilities to the Circuit Magistrate's Courts in Kahatagasdigiliya and Medawachchiya, District/Magistrate's Court in Walasmulla, High Court in Matale and the Civil Appellate High Court in Kalmunai, at an estimated cost of Rs.491 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
