Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2017-10-03

Amending the Trust Ordinance,

- The Cabinet has granted approval to expand the scope of the Trust Ordinance by amending same, in order to comply with the international standards for the minimization of money laundering and reduction of the risk of terrorist financing. As such, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Thalatha Atukorala, the Minister of Justice, to publish the Trust (Amendment) Bill prepared for the purpose, in the Government Gazette and present the same subsequently in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
