Presenting the National Emergency Operation Plan for approval

- The necessity for a systematic approach has been identified for search, rescue and relief operations in disaster situations to avoid duplication of relief efforts and streamline the collection and distribution of food and essential items by public and private sector organizations, non‑governmental organizations and mass media organizations.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, the Minister of Disaster Management, to implement the National Emergency Operation Plan to counter any National Emergency Disaster Situation and ensure the safety of lives, with the proper coordination of all government, private sector and mass media institutions, was approved by the Cabinet.
