National Action Plan for the implementation of the related programmes for disaster risk reduction

- The objective of the Government is to ensure the safety of Sri Lanka by the implementation of more extensive disaster management programmes to reduce the disaster risks and impacts on the people, properties and the economy. For this purpose, action is being taken by the Government to prepare disaster reduction strategies by targeting the priority actions of understanding disaster risk, disaster risk governance, investing in disaster risk reduction and disaster preparedness and the use of build back better concepts in preparedness and rehabilitation programmes.

Accordingly, Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, the Minister of Disaster Management, presented to the Cabinet, the National Action Plan for the implementation of the programmes for disaster risk reduction, and the Cabinet took note of same.
