Obtaining the consultancy services for Designing of Bridges and Railway Lines from the Maradana Railway Station up to Maligawatte

- 'The Colombo - Suburban Railway Project' will be implemented to cater to the demand of railway services by the year 2035 focusing attention on the development associated with Colombo and Suburban area of the railway network of Sri Lanka. The pre-feasibility study of the project has been completed by now and is planned to construct of four (04) new railway lines from Maradana to Maligawatta has been recommended as a short term development proposal. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to obtain the consultancy services required to lay the new rail line, to widen the bridge at the school lane at Maligawatta and the pedestrian bridge at Maradana from the Road Development Authority along with the assistance of the experts of the Department of Railways, was approved by the Cabinet.
