Development of a Recreational Beach Area from Colpetty to Dehiwala

- With the rapid development of the City of Colombo, it has become a necessity to develop a common beach area for the people living in the City of Colombo and the suburbs. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to develop a recreational beach area from Colpetty to Dehiwala for the public recreational activities and consequently, to mitigate the sea erosion and provide space required for the additional railway lines, was approved by the Cabinet.
