Allocation of blocks of lands from the Regional Industrial Estates to set up Industries

- Proposals have been called through paper advertisements to select suitable industrialists in order to invest in the industrial estates, with a view to promoting industries at regional level. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, to allocate the blocks of land situated in Laksha Uyana, Trincomalee - Stage 2, Batticaloa, Mathugama, Homagama, Ratmalana, Millewa, Galigamuwa, Nalanda Ellawala, Buttala, Karandeniya, Bata atha, Dankotuwa, Puttalam, Nalanda and Ulapane Regional Industrial Estates, to the selected investors on lease basis as per the recommendations of the Regional Industrial Services Committees which evaluated the project proposals submitted in this regard and the Ministry Project Evaluation Committee, to establish 26 Industrial Projects, was approved by the Cabinet.
