The Mixed Development Project in the Land of Charlmers Granaries in Colombo Fort

- The Government has planned to establish a Multi-modal Transport Hub integrating all modes of transport in Colombo Fort and Pettah. As such, it has been decided to make use of the land of the Charlmers Granaries in extent of 9 Acres 3 Roods 27 Perches, belonging to the Urban Development Authority situated in front of the Fort Railway Station to carry out the necessary development activities under the project. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to call for competitive bids under the Multi-madel Transport Hub Project to select a suitable investor to develop the land as a 'Gate to the City of Colombo', was approved by the Cabinet.
