Supply and Installation of a Whole Body MRI Scanner for the General Hospital, Sri Jayawardenepura

- It is essential to have the MRI Scans to diagnose the conditions of the brain and the central nerves system and as well as the breast and heart diseases. It has, therefore, been found that the purchasing of a 3.0 Tesla Whole Body MRI Scanner is essential for enhancing the quality of treatment services provided by the General Hospital of Sri Jayawardenepura.

As such, Open International Bidding has been called for and in response 03 bids have now been submitted for the purpose. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the relevant contract to M/s. Dimo (Pvt) Ltd., the lowest evaluated substantially responsive bidder, for a sum of Rs.45 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC) which evaluated the bids, was approved by the Cabinet.
