Construction of the Accident and Emergency Treatment Unit at the General Hospital, Chilaw

- A proposal has been made to establish an Accident and Emergency Treatment Unit at the General Hospital, Chilaw with the objective of preventing the deaths caused by accidents and disabilities by providing an easy accessible, high standard and quality patient care service. National Competitive Bids have been called for selecting a suitable contractor to construct this Unit and 09 bidders have submitted their bids in this regard.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the contract, in accordance with the recommendation of the Technical Evaluation Committee and the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC) to M/s. AMSK Construction (Pvt) Ltd., the lowest evaluated substantially responsive bidder, for a sum of Rs.501.2 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
