Obtaining blocks of land for the construction of the Ratnapura and Badulla District Labour Office Complexes

- The Labour Offices, the District Labour Offices and the District Factory Inspecting Engineer's Offices functioning under the Department of Labour coming under the purview of the Ratnapura and Badulla zones are housed in rented out buildings. A large number of people visit these offices daily to obtain services from these offices and as such, it has been proposed to construct permanent buildings for these offices to provide the public with adequate facilities as well as the accommodation facilities necessary for the staff.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. W.D.J. Seneviratne, the Minister of Labour, Trade Union Relations and Sabaragamuwa Development, to obtain the land required for the establishment of District Labour Office Complexes in Ratnapura and Badulla, was approved by the Cabinet.
