Construction of four (04) Grid Substations under the Renewable Energy Absorption Transmission Development Project

- Four (04) Grid Substations and the related transmission lines have been planned to be installed in the areas of Nawalapitiya, Ragala, Wewalwatta and Maliboda to provide interconnections to electricity generated in mini hydro power plants to be amalgamated into the main network in the future. The proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to award the contract for design, civil works, installation of the relevant equipment and commissioning, to M/s. Ceylex Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., for a sum of Rs.1,233 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
