Construction of the Cardiothoracic Complex (Phase II) at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital

- The government is in the process of further developing the health care services provided by the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) which is the main tertiary care institution in Sri Lanka for pediatric treatment. Therefore, it has been planned to commence the construction work of the Cardiothoracic Complex (Phase II) for providing advanced qualitative Cardiothoracic treatment and for the improvement of facilities for medical research.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the contract for the construction of the said treatment unit to M/s. Electro Metal Pressings (Pvt) Ltd. for a sum of Rs.159.94 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
