Establishment of a Research Unit for the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency
- The Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency has been established under the provisions of the Convention Against Doping in Sports Act, No.33 of 2013 with the objective of preventing the use of prohibited substances, conducting research in that regard and co‑operating with other international organizations operating against prohibited substances.

Presently, a building is being constructed for this agency in the premises of the Sugathadasa Sports Stadium. The proposal made by Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, the Minister of Sports, to construct a laboratory research unit within the premises of the building being constructed for the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency with the objective of minimizing the risk of Sri Lankan Sports men and women being subject to the allegations of using prohibited substances and to provide the equipment needed for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
