Implementation of a Middle Income Housing Development Project at Ragama for Government Employees

- The objective of the Middle Income Housing Development Project implemented by the government is to construct 500,000 houses required by the Middle Income Groups within the next 05 year period. It has been identified that the majority of the middle income employees belong to the Government and the Semi‑government Sector. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to implement a housing project with 400 housing units by developing a 03 acre land situated in the Ragama area belonging to the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation, with the objective of providing affordable houses to the employees of the Government and the Semi‑government Sector under the above project, was approved by the Cabinet.
