Providing relief to the householders adversely affected due to the Uma Oya Multi-Purpose Development Project

- Cabinet granted approval to take the following action with the objective of providing further relief to the householders adversely affected, as recommended by the Cabinet Committee appointed to examine and provide relief to the persons affected due to the leakage of the main tunnel of the Uma Oya Multi-Purpose Development Project,

* to pay a monthly rental of Rs.10,000/- to Rs.25,000/-, as recommended by the Government Valuer, subject to a maximum period of 06 months, to the families who have been evacuated from their residences affected, until resettlement in alternative lands.

* to provide of dry rations as provided presently, to the affected families for a further period of 06 months.
