Payment of compensation to the families of those who died and the injured persons due to the unfortunate incident which occurred in Beruwala and Aluthgama on 2014-06-15 and 2014-06-16

- As a result of the unfortunate incident which occurred in the areas of Beruwala and Aluthgama on 2014‑06‑15 and 2014‑06‑16, three (03) persons died and 12 persons were injured. Taking into consideration the humanitarian aspects related to the victims of the incident, the proposal made by Hon. D.M. Swaminathan, the Minister of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs, to pay compensation of Rs.02 million each to the family of each person who died and to pay compensation up to the maximum of Rs.500,000/- to each person injured, due to the incident, was approved by the Cabinet.
