Port Access Elevated Highway Project - Construction of a new seventeen - storey office building and four workshops for the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA)
•- The proposed Port Access Highway Project is scheduled to be commenced by February, 2018 and the access road running across the buildings belonging to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the section where the facilities of the SLPA are located, has been planned to be commenced by December, 2018. In place of the buildings of the SLPA required to be removed due to the implementation of this project, a new office building with 17 storyes and 04 workshops are scheduled to be constructed. As such, with a view to commencing the construction work without any delay, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to call for proposals from the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau for providing consultancy services and to award the contract having evaluated the same, was approved by the Cabinet.
