Display the Ozone Friendly Tea Logo on Sri Lanka Cricket sportswear
- The Montreal Protocol on Ozone Depleting Substances decided in the year 1992, to limit the consumption of Methyl Bromide or Bromo-Methane hazardous to the ozone layer. Accordingly, Sri Lanka has been successful in completely eliminating the use of this chemical as a pesticide, particularly in the tea plantation by focusing on alternative technical methods and it has come under international praise.

As a mark of this achievement, the Sri Lanka Tea Board has introduced the 'Ozone Friendly Tea Logo' created by it and the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, to have a discussion with the relevant institutions to display the logo in the official sportswear of the Sri Lanka Cricket Team, with a view to promoting Sri Lanka as an Ozone friendly tea manufacturing country in the international market, was approved by the Cabinet.
