Social Values and Psycho-Intellectual Values to be enhanced based on Reconciliation and Equality through Pre-School Education

- It has been proposed to enhance the life skills of school children with a view to creating a future generation endowed with social values which would successfully adapt to the social diversity of nationality, religion and gender. Accordingly, the joint proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education and Hon. Faiszer Musthapha, the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, to introduce a series of lessons with a half an hour session once a week, including practical activities in order to equip the Pre‑School children with personal and social values to enhance their life skills, was approved by the Cabinet.
