Provision of land ownership and proper housing facilities for the Plantation Community

- The programme for granting clear title deeds for a block of land in extent of 07Perches has been initiated in the District of Nuwara Eliya, with the objective of providing better facilities to the Plantation Community presently living in small houses with meagre facilities. The Cabinet noted the Action Plan prepared under this programme for granting clear title deeds for the houses constructed for the Plantation Community under various housing programmes within the period from the year 2010 to the year 2016 in several Districts including the districts of Nuwara Eliya, Badulla and Kegalle under this programme submitted to the Cabinet by Hon. U. Palani Digambaram, the Minister of Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development.
