Amendment to the Judicature Act (Increase in the number of High Court Judges)

- The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Justice to publish the Judicature (Amendment) Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman in the Government Gazette to increase the approved number of High Court Judges from 75 up to 85 with the objective of minimizing the delays in dispensing of cases within the judicial system in the country and carrying out such activities with efficiency and subsequently present the Bill in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
