Establishment of a Regional Secretariat for the South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN) in Sri Lanka

- This Conference is held among the SAARC countries by annually, as a platform for the discussion of matters relating to sanitation. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, to establish a Regional Secretariat for the South Asian Conference on Sanitation in Sri Lanka, with the objective of providing facilities for the exchange of knowledge and experiences necessary among the South Asian Countries in resolving the problems relating to sanitation, was approved by the Cabinet.
