Renewable Energy Absorption Transmission Development Project - procurement of materials and goods for the construction of the 4 Grid Substations at Nawalapitiya, Ragala, Wewalwatta and Maliboda

- It is required to construct 04 grid substations and the related transmission lines in Nawalapitiya, Ragala, Wewalwatta and Maliboda in order to provide inter connections of the upcoming mini hydro power plants to the main electricity transmission system. Bids have already been called for purchasing the materials required for the purpose and the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to award the contracts in respect of each relevant contract package, as recommended by the Technical Evaluation Committee which assessed the bids received and the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
