Empowerment of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption
- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption is the State Institution established in Sri Lanka for eradicating bribery and corruption. Certain investigations to be handled by this Commission are of a very complex nature and as such, it has been identified that providing modern technology support and updating the knowledge and enhancing the skills of the officers are essential for enhancing the efficiency of the Commission, the Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour Affairs of the State Department of the United States of America has agreed to provide financial support for this purpose.

Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President, Maithripala Sirisena to enter into the relevant Memoranda of Understanding to obtain the grant of US$ 235,000 (approximately Rs.35.25 million) agreed to be provided by the above Bureau, was approved by the Cabinet.
