Grant and Implementation Agreement between the Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Government of Sri Lanka

- The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the United States of America which is an agency for granting foreign aid operating aimed at long term economic development through the creation of economic growth of selected countries is due to arrange a grant of US$ 7.4 million to the Government of Sri Lanka within the next period of five years for the development of several important sectors conducive to the economic progress of the country. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister, to enter into an agreement between the Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Government of Sri Lanka to obtain the said grant and for the implementation of the programmes under its purview, was approved by the Cabinet.
