Purchasing buses to be deployed to ensure the safety of school children while travelling

- It has been proposed to provide passenger transport buses for the use of the school children of four(04) difficult educational zones in the North Central Province, taking into consideration the need to minimize the difficulties encountered while travelling and to provide safe traveling facilities for school children. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President, Maithripala Sirisena, to purchase four buses at a cost of Rs.12.86 million and deploy them to be used as a pilot project commencing under the 'Let's Protect Children' National Programme, was approved by the Cabinet.
