Recruitment of Graduates to the Public Service

- It is essential to obtain the services of the graduates to achieve the anticipated targets of the development programmes launched by the Ministries, Departments and the other governmental institutions and specially in activities such as collection of data and information and compiling of reports.

As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to recruit graduates on district basis to fill the vacancies identified after the determination of the required cadre to be recruited by the Department of Management Services for each Ministry, Department and other government institution, subject to a period of one year training, was approved by the Cabinet.
