Introduction of Electronic Identity Registration for Sri Lankans

- Due to the complexity of the subject matter of the project initiated for the establishment of the Household Transfer Management (HTM) System for Sri Lankans, it has now been re‑reviewed. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Harin Fernando, the Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure, to provide each and every Sri Lankan with a permanent electronic registration number and through this to provide the general public with the relief measures and other benefits granted by the Government expeditiously and effectively, was approved by the Cabinet.
