Purchasing of a PET/CT Scanner for the Apeksha Hospital at Maharagama

- As the PET/CT scanner detects cancers very accurately and conveniently at the early stage itself, there is the possibility of performing prompt treatment. In this regard, the donors being the general public had made lavish contributions to the National Health Development Fund for the purchase of a high quality PET/CT scanner. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to purchase the required scanner making use of these funds, in accordance with the recommendations of the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
