Restructuring of the Kahatagaha Graphite Lanka Limited (KGLL)

- The Cabinet, prior to this, had decided to appoint a Ministerial Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of the Minister of Special Assignments comprising of seven (07) other Cabinet Ministers to examine the present situation of the Kahatagaha Graphite Lanka Limited and make recommendations to make it viable as a profit making institution. Accordingly, in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministerial Sub‑Committee, retaining the mining with the KGLL, and to form a new company for value addition with a private investment as well and to increase the value addition process of the graphite so as to have a more capital formation for the company, was approved by the Cabinet.
