Allocation of Land to construct houses for the labourers residing at the Mahaberiyathenna Farm

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 08th of April 2015 has granted approval as a matter of policy to provide houses together with the ownership of land for the labourers employed in the Estates. There are 210 labourers residing permanently in the Mahaberiyathenna Farm belonging to the National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) and the approval of the Director Board of the NLDB has been given to allocate a land in extent of 12 acres to provide 07 perches each to be distributed among such labourers for the construction of houses. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. P. Harison, the Minister of Rural Economy, to allocate the above extent of land, was approved by the Cabinet.
