Establishment of two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Power Plants in collaboration with the Governments of India and Japan
- The Government of Sri Lanka has expressed its willingness for the Governments of India and Japan to establish two(02), 500MW capacity Liquefied Natural Gas Power Plants in Sri Lanka on Government to Government basis. Accordingly, the joint proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy and Hon. Malik Samarawickrema, the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade to issue Letters of Intent to the Governments of India and Japan, to establish two power generation plants was approved by the Cabinet.
