Construction of the Accident & Emergency Treatment Unit and the Accident Wards, Operating Theatres and the Intensive Care Unit at the Base Hospital (Teaching) - Gampola
- The Base Hospital (Teaching), Gampola is one of the premier hospitals of the Central Province comprising of around 350 beds and it functions as an affiliated teaching hospital as well, for the medical students of the University of Peradeniya. As such, in order to prevent the deaths and disabilities caused by accidents and to provide high quality care for a large number of patients, the facilities of the Intensive Care Units, Accident Wards and Operating Theatres of the hospitals have to be developed. As such, National Competitive Bids have been invited to select a suitable contractor for the construction of the Accident and Emergency Treatment Unit, Accident Wards, Operating Theatres and the Intensive Care Unit of this hospital. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to award the relevant contract to M/s Electro Metal Pressings (Pvt.) Ltd., the lowest evaluated substantially responsive bidder in accordance with the recommendations of the Technical Evaluation Committee which evaluated the bids and the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
