Augmentation of water pipelines concurrent to the improvement of the Orugodawatta - Ambatale Road Development Project

- The augmentation of water distribution pipelines from Orugodawatta up to Kaduwela are required to be carried out concurrent to the development of the Orugodawatta - Ambatale Road Development Project. The Cabinet has granted approval to award the contract of this project for a sum of Euro 46.21 million at its meeting held on 2017‑03‑21. While the Uni Credit Bank of Austria has consented to provide 85% of the required funds for the project, the People's Bank has expressed its willing to provide the balance of 15%. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to enter into the relevant loan Agreements, was approved by the Cabinet.
