Formal vesting of lands to the Postal Department for the construction of the new Postal Complex in Polonnaruwa

- The Land in the sacred city of Polonnaruwa where the Post Office, the official bungalow of the Post Office and the office of the Polonnaruwa Divisional Postal Superintendent is situated, are to be vested with the Urban Development Authority, in accordance with the proposed new town development plan under the programme for 'Awakening of Polonnaruwa' and in lieu of Postal Department land and buildings, that are to be vested, it is proposed to establish a new Postal Complex in the Kaduruwela Town (the land in which the old main Post Office is located) and accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. M.H.A. Haleem, the Minister of Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs, to get the lands required vested with the Postal Department, was approved by the Cabinet.
