Regulating the method of alienating State Land held by the Government Institutions

- Lands year marked by the Government for administrative and development purposes could only be alienated for other parties when there are provisions for such alienation in terms of the Act., under which the relevant institution has been established or if only H.E. the President of Sri Lanka has granted approval for same. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President, Maithripala Sirisena, to appoint a Committee under the Chairmanship of the Secretary to the President comprising of the Secretaries of the relevant Line Ministries and Officials with the objective of introducing a more formal method to investigate and make recommendations to H.E the President when dealing with the requests for under utilized state lands by the private sector for various development purposes,was approved by the Cabinet.
