Establishment of a Sinhala Language Teaching Unit at the Jawaharlal Nehru University -

- The proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to conduct discussions with the Government of India for the establishment of a Unit for teaching of the Sinhala Language at the School of Language, Literature and Cultural Studies in the Jawaharlal Nehru University, with a view to providing an opportunity for the students of India and the students of other regions inclusive of the SAARCK region interested in studying the Sinhala Language, Literature and the culture of Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
