Construction of a Dedicated Economic Centre in the Eastern Province and obtaining Consultancy Services

- A financial provision of Rs.300 million has been set apart by the budget proposal of 2017 for the construction of a Dedicated Economic Centre in the Eastern Province and a potion of state owned land located at Kalawanchikudy - Manmunai South Divisional Secretariat Division has been identified as suited for the purpose with the concurrence of the relevant officers and the political authority. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. P. Harison, the Minister of Rural Economy, for the selected land of 02 acres and 03 roods to be vested with the Ministry of Rural Economy and to award the contract for the construction on Design, Construction and Turn Key basis to the well experienced Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) which has already constructed 10 Economic Centres, was approved by the Cabinet.
