Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2017-06-06

Additional provision required for increasing the financial assistance given to the needy artistes from Rs.5,000/- to Rs.10,000/-

- This matter was taken up for discussion at the Cabinet meeting held on 06th December 2016 and the proposal made by Hon. S.B. Navinne, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs, therein, to increase the financial assistance given to the needy artistes from Rs.5,000/- to Rs.10,000/-, to increase the number of artistes who receive the assistance up to 5,000 and to implement the programme from the year 2017, was approved by the Cabinet.
