Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Forestry Administration of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Wildlife of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
- It has been proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between China and Sri Lanka to provide training and educational opportunities for the staff members of the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka. Through this programme a larger number of officers of the Department of Wildlife Conservation will get a valuable opportunity to enhance their knowledge and build up their skills. Further, opportunities will be provided for the training of officers in the relevant field, and also for them to gain experiences of the relevant field with tours arranged in both countries, to implement collaborative research programmes and also for the exchange of animal and plants and therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Gamini Jayawickrema Perera, the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife to sign the above MoU during his scheduled official visit to the People's Republic of China, was approved by the Cabinet.
