Financial Assistance for the Construction of the High Altitude Sports Complex in Nuwara Eliya

- The Ministry of Sports has planned to construct a High Altitude Sports Complex in Nuwara Eliya with the objective of earning a considerable amount of foreign exchange by establishing the proposed sports complex in a picturesque location for the enhancement of the competitive skills of the Sri Lankan Sportsmen and women at zonal and international level. The Cabinet at its meeting held on 20th December, 2016 has granted approval to sign an Agreement with the prospective contractor for the implementation of the project. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to conduct loan negotiations and to enter into Agreements with the relevant institutions to obtain loan facilities for providing the necessary funds for the implementation of the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
