Installation of the Signaling, Telecommunication and Level Crossing Protection System in the Matara - Beliatta Section under the Matara - Kataragama Railway Extension Project

- The Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC) has recommended to award the contract for the installation of Signaling, Telecommunication and Level Crossing Protection System of the Road Section from Matara to Beliatta utilizing the balance provision left in the Matara-Kataragama Railway Extension Project to M/s China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation, the present contractor of the project. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala De Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to award the relevant contract as recommended by the SCAPC, was approved by the Cabinet.
