Pilot project on implementation of flexible hours in Government Offices around Battaramulla area
- According to a study carried out, taking into consideration the number of vehicles that reach the Government offices in the Battaramulla administrative area within a period of three (03) months from November 2016 up to January 2017, it has been revealed that 58% of the officers who use their private vehicles or official vehicles use such vehicles to reach their offices from 7.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and from 3.00 p.m. up to 5.30 p.m. to leave their offices at the end of their duty hours.

Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to empower the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration and Management to issue a Public Administration Circular in that regard, for the implementation of a pilot project with flexible working hours in offices situated around the Battaramulla area enabling to report for work, at any time between 7.30 a.m. up to 9.15 a.m. and to leave those offices at any time between 3.15 p.m. up to 5.00 p.m. after completing the specified duty hours, was approved by the Cabinet.
