Entering into Agreements between Sri Lanka and China for Investment Promotion and Economic and Technology Cooperation

- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on 2016‑04‑07 with a view to enhancing Investment Promotion and Economic and Technology Cooperation. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Malik Samarawickrama, the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, to sign the Framework Agreement between Sri Lanka and China and the Outline of the Medium and Long-term Development Plan, based on the priority projects identified under the above MoU, was approved by the Cabinet.
